Orange Cleansing Cream
6 tbsp. creamy vegetable shortening
3 tbsp. distilled witch hazel
1 tsp. pure orange extract
1 drop orange food colouring*
Blend orange extract and food colouring
throughly into shortening. Add one teaspoon witch hazel and mix thoroughly.
Repeat until all the witch hazel has been added. Pour into jars.
Note: If fragrance "fades" in a week or so, add more orange extract.

Light Cucumber Cold Cream
1 oz. white beeswax
7 tbsp. light mineral oil
1 1/2 tsp. borax
2 tbsp. rose water
2 tbsp. fresh cucumber juice
Make cucumber juice beforehand (See
recipe on page 2) Grate wax and heat it
with oil in a double boiler until well blended. At the same time, dissolve
boradx in rose water and heat to near boiling. Remove both pots from
heat at the same time and stirring constantly, add water solution slowly
to blended oil and wax. When combined, beat vigorously until cool.
Add cucumber juice. Beat and put into jars. Note:

Enriched Rose Water Cold Cream
1 oz. white beeswax
1 oz. spermaceti
10 tbsp. refined odorless castor
oil.
1 1/2 tsp. borax
2 1/2 tbsp. distilled water
1 scant tbsp. rose water
2 drops of rose*
Grate wax and combine with spermaceti
and oil in double boilder. Heat and stir, until mixture is well blended.
At the same time, in a separate pot, dissolve borax in distilled and rose
water. Heat to near boiling. Remove both from heat simultaneously
and, stirring constantly, add the water mixture to the wax mixture.
When combined, beat vigorously until cool. Add oil of rose and beat
again. Put in jars. Note: See "The Easy Way to

Lemon Cleansing Cream
1/2 oz. white beeswax
2 tbsp. yellow petroleum jelly
2 tbsp. light mineral oil
1 tbsp. anhydrous (waterless) lanolin
1 1/2 tbsp. distilled water
1 tbsp. freshly strained lemon juice
2 pinches benzoic acid powder
2 drops oil lemon
Grate wax and combine it with jelly,
oil and lanolin in double boiler. Heat and stir until mixture becomes
a well blended liquid. At the same time, in another pan, heat the
water, lemon juice and benzoic acid. Remove both from heat simultaneously
and, stirring constantly, add water solution gradually to melted mixture.
Then beat vigorously until the cream is cool. Add oil of lemon and
