did 2 of my prescriptions
over the phone,and the rest my Dr's office's sent in for me. One of my husbands
meds were
1400.00 a month.we went through the patient assistance program and get it
for free.
You can'y have insurance or medicare,and the information you need to supply
is very little.

get some help from there........Kroger sometimes will give gift certificates.......and

Goodwill does christmas presents as well as food. i think
the toy limit is 1 new and 2 gentley loved
(call tho, it could have changed. the local food banks try very hard to
provide turkey,or chicken and
assted. oddaments. supposedly there are churches that adopt families, but
you must ask to be
considered. sometimes,if you go in for your review in dec. they have a
book or two.(welfare)
different community centers have free or low cost parties for kids. in des
moines they have snow
day. someone gets snow and brings it in for the kids...

Being of the lower income group myself, I have found
2 local sources for food assistance.
The first is done through the county. Here it is called brown
bag foods. There is a nominal fee,
$5 for 4 months. You go pick up the foods, usually some produce,
as well as breads, dry and
canned goods, once a month. I found out about this program by calling
the county assistance
information. Also, MANY churches, including my own, have a
hot meals program that serves
once a week, with food boxes, and clothing for those in need.
Another idea is that if someone
has EVER been in a union, here in Portland, OR, you can sign up and
get a free food box once
a month. I have even gotten frozen meats in this one, as well
as margarine and the normal dry
foods and canned goods. Anyone can find out if there is a program
in their area that is similar.
In Ottawa county Michigan
we have a organization called "LOVE IN THE NAME
OF CHRIST" they are open all year round and can help anyone with anything
from Appliances, furniture, grocerys, Utility Shut Offs, Furniture,
bedding,
beds,Youname it they are there to help Anyone, anytime. (616)842-9160

We also have another place called "Salvation Army" again they can
direct you
to get you help with groerys, clothing, bedding, beds, furniture Etc..

These places also do things for people who need Christmas Help. The

stipulation is proof of income. These places are all over the United
States
and I would think they all serve thet same purpose "to help those
in need".
This is all done by donations through Gods Ministery. Spread the news

ALWAYS THERE TO HELP US ALL WHEN WE NEED IT. Most of your area churches
can
lead you in the right direction if you just ask them who to call...

I am the director of Santa's Recycling Workshop. We are a
non-profit organization in Western
Washington State (South Puget Sound area) that recycles "gently used"
toys. Parents in a time of
hardship "shop" by appointment for FREE Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers
and stuffed animals for
their children ages birth through 17 years.
If there was some way to know what state parents are in it
would make adopting much simpler.
Otherwise all I can suggest is that families in Western Washington that
have NOT been adopted
can email me for the link to our website.
In addition, Western Washington families that were unable
to put in a request can also email me to
see if we can provide assistance. We do crosscheck with other giving
organizations but other than
that we have no income limitations or eligibility requirements.
